Connecting with farms

What connecting gives you

✅ Set the farm's vet protocol so mastitis treatment is automated for their team — products, doses, milk and meat withholdings, running itself once it's set up.

✅ Stay accessible to the farmer and their team through chat, so you're on hand for questions as they come up.

✅ Follow the farm's statistics and individual animals, for proactive advice exactly when it's needed.

✅ Request testing on the farm's behalf for Snapshot and Herdscreen.

✅ Run FCDC tests on the farm's behalf, when they use your practice for testing.

The farm needs to be in our database before you can work with them. Ideally, they'll join the platform too, so they can track their cows' history and actions themselves — but that's not required. Even if they never log in, having them on record lets you issue personalised PDF reports, email results directly to them, and keep track of outcomes on your end.

Creating the farm sends the farmer an invitation automatically, though accepting it isn't necessary for them to start receiving their results by email.

Connecting with a farm already on the platform

1. Go to Connections

From the menu, open Connections under Network.

2. Request New Connection, and search for the farm

Tap Request New Connection, then enter the farm's dairy company and supplier number, exactly as registered. Tap Find.

3. Add the matching farm

If the farm exists in our database, it'll appear here. Tap Add.

4. Send the request

The farm now sits under Farms to request. Tap Send Request — the farm's admin will be asked to approve it.

Creating a farm that isn't listed yet

1. Go to Farms, and tap Add Farm

From the menu, open Farms, then tap Add Farm.

2. Enter the dairy company and supplier ID

Fill in the Dairy Company Name and Supplier ID, and the business name if it's a new record.

Link to the existing farm

We'll flag it as an existing farm. Fill out the fields that apply, choose which vets from your practice should connect — you're included by default — and tap Send Link Request.

Create the farm from scratch

Fill out the short form — location, and a vet practice if relevant — then tap Create Farm. The admin contact you enter gets an invite to set a password and finish onboarding.

✅ Once approved, you're connected

Farm Medix reviews any newly created farm before an invite goes out to the contact you provided. Once the farm accepts your request, you're automatically connected and ready to work together.
